Spoken word artists Usman Ally, Idris Goodwin, and Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai met up in Chi-city to begin percolating on the spoken word hip hop theater ensemble show, “American Eth(n)ic”, produced by Shawn Douglass for Remy Bumppo Theater and directed by Nick Sandys.
“American Eth(n)ic” will explore examine mass media’s role in perpetuating cultural norms surround race and gender during a four-week run from March 12, 2009-April 5, 2009. Tickets on-sale in January.
